Our Player in the Spotlight this week is one of our new admins, Mickkassa, known to us as ‘Mick’. She was born in Southern Michigan on 11 November 1970 – so she is a scorpio with a gemini rising.

Mick lives in Canton , Michigan , about 5 minutes from her mom's house. Her mom watches her son while she works and they are very close! 

Mick originally joined Mountain when it was still in Etna and moved to Advanced 10. However they moved about 3½ years ago and she had no computer for a while.  In October 2005 Mick rejoined Mountain after she purchased a new computer so she plays at work and at home.

Mick’s favourite partner is Almost_An_Angel, however there are lots she really enjoys playing with -   baracuddaboy, cuey, scoot, lyn, flute , angie, linnie, tori, weaver, cbig, ms, harrie, hk, hot, omg she could go on and on - but there are way too many - she loves em all!

Mick is friends with everyone on the Mountain, and there are ones she chats with on a daily basis such as Almost/Tracey. She says she knows not everyone is going to like you but she doesn’t dislike really anyone here in the league.  Some may irritate the hell out of her, but as she is very very pregnant that's easy to do.

Mick works for a firm that does machine tool wiring. She is the problem solver, payroll, insurance, scheduling manpower, deals with problems, collects money - the enforcer.

She is the oldest of four - her very best friend is her baby sister Carolynn. Some league members may have met her, they were calling her mini-me.  There's an 8 year age difference between them. She is very close to her family, her mom watches her son for her, her dad works his arse off and always did to provide for them.  She has another sister who is one year younger then her, and they call her the "milkman baby", as she doesn't look like any of them.  Her brother is a sweetie - he's 4 years younger then Mick. 

Many league members have met her husband, Mike - they have been married for 6 years and the total time together has been 12 years.  He's her best friend and her total male counterpart, which is scary as compared to him she is the mellow one (lmao) that is true!!!!! 

They have a 3 year old son Josh and she is expecting a lil girl they will be naming Veronica B.B. in February sometime. The B.B. is for B.B. King, they love him and her husband gets to name the middle name.

Their only pets are fish, but Mick says that her son likes to to act like a cat or a dog at times!

When Mick was 35 she got thrown out of her first concert because of her sister. It was the Violent Femmes and they were into their 3rd song. Some dude had kicked Carolynn in the back, she wanted an apology, he told her to go screw herself, she said fine I'm gonna wait here and tell your wife.  Carolynn is 5’ and this guy was like 6’3”. He called security on her. Mick told security if he laid his hands on her sister she would kill him.  They were asked to wait outside for the police to get there because her sister wanted to file a complaint.  Then they wouldn't let them back in.  There is way more to this story, but hence at 35 years old she got thrown out of her first concert.

For this month’s Pet of the Month article, I have interviewed ms_nytingayle_69, know to us as Kelly. Kelly is an animal rescue worker and has added 4 dogs and 4 cats to her family via the rescues. Kelly is telling a little about each animal for this edition.

When I asked Kelly to interview for this article she said “ lol…oh honey, you hit the mother load this time!” Boy was she right!!!!

The Dogs:
Baron is a red doberman pinscher, almost 3 years old, received him as a Christmas present in 2003. He is a juvenile delinquent that gets into trouble on a regular basis! He is technically her dog but he worships the ground Brian walks on.

Jersey Girl is a chocolate lab mix, around 4. She and her puppies were rescued from a hole in a cliff where she was dumped in a state park. Kelly found homes for the pups but Jersey Girl “wrapped herself around my heart” because she was very ill when I found her but was still such a devoted and protective mother.

Sable is a 7 year old great dane, with Merle coloring. It is a grey and black spotted coat. Kelly was fostering her and was having trouble finding a home for her because she was an older dog and Danes life span is usually only 7-9 yrs. Sable became very attached to Kelly and her family and they became attached to her, so they added   Sable to the family!  Kelly describes Sable as “a big, gorgeous, loyal lap dog who will give you a bath whether you want it or not!”

Bandit is Kellys’ son, Dusty’s 10 year old white American Bulldog. He is very laid back, and a loving dog that is happy just as long as he is with Dusty. Nine years ago the Humane Society called and asked me if I could come get him because he is considered to be a "pit bull." legally unable to be adopted and facing being put to sleep. So, naturally, Kelly got him and kept him.

The Cats:
Silver is a 4 year old Russian Blue that was given to Kelly, who she says “Is like a human.” He will “reach up to you with his front paws, like a baby, and wants you to hold him”.

Peyton, a 1.5 year old male, is a domestic white, even more loving than silver. He will    talk whenever he wants treats, food, water, love or for you to get out of HIS CHAIR!! Lol   Kelly rescued Peyton after his mother and siblings were hit by a car. The others were placed, but Kelly and her family “just couldn’t give up this one.” Brian and Dusty begged to keep him.

Princess, a 4 year old Siamese, was rescued with her siblings after being dumped in a taped up box with no holes in it. Starved and sick when Kelly rescued them, she fattened them up and, once again, found homes for the siblings, but kept Princess because she did not want to leave and because Kelly is a sucker! Lol   

The last animal in Kellys’ home is a 4 year old Russian Blue, named Fat Momma. Fat momma was rescued along with one of her babies from under a house during a storm. Fat Momma had managed to move the others to higher ground, but Kelly was unable to find them. Eventually, Fat Momma DID find them and brought them to Kellys’ door. They were placed in loving homes.
